We are aiming to make South West England an even better place to live and do business. We are also aiming to make the RDA more efficient and effective. 
 
We will measure our performance at an operational level against three corporate objectives that correspond to our core strategy:

• To continue the gradual improvement in South West productivity as measured by GVA/hour relative to UK average
• To reduce the region's contribution of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) relative to GVA as measured by tonnes of GHG per £'000 of GVA
• To improve the rankings of priority places as measured by the FDI's European Cities and Regions of the Future index

We will also measure our performance against specific output indicators.

Activities and emphasis

Thank you to those of you who responded to us with feedback on our draft corporate plan. Following a discussion period (from 7 January to 15 February 2008), we redrafted our corporate plan and the final version was approved by government on 11 June 2008.

The South West RDA was assessed as "performing well" by the National Audit Office (NAO), the main independent watchdog for government agencies.
