Our Corporate Plan 2008-11 clearly sets out the Agency's key priorities for the 3 to 5 year period, with a view to the kind of economy that we want to see in South West England in 20 or so years time.
Since we launched our Corporate Plan in 2008 the context of our work has changed dramatically.
In light of the recession and our current budgetary situation, all RDAs have been asked by BIS (The Department for Business Innovation and Skills, formerly BERR) to submit draft refreshed Corporate Plans. The South West RDA's refreshed plan was submitted on the 10th June.
We expect BIS to clear all RDA refreshed Corporate Plans within Whitehall by the end of July. We also intend to undertake a light touch consultation with key partners throughout the region in late June and early July. After that date we will produce a final version.
Our draft refreshed Corporate Plan is called 'What Now' and covers our plans for the next two years (09-11). The refresh has taken place alongside our recent comprehensive and challenging budget review exercise, and the priorities and messages within the plan fully align with our announcements on the 8th June.
'What Now' reflects the changes in our circumstances and draws on lessons learned from the independent national evaluation of the impact of RDAs' activities since 2002, which confirmed the value that RDAs have added to regional economies.
