As at 15 February 2005 1.6 percent of the workforce classified themselves as being from a ethnic minority group, 98 percent of the workforce classified themselves as being from a white ethnic group. For 0.4 percent of the workforce there was no information available.
On the 31 March 2003, 0.9 percent of the workforce classified themselves as being from an ethnic minority group whilst 98.2 percent of staff classified themselves as being from a white ethnic group. Since 2003 there has been an increase in the number of ethnic minority staff employed.
The Agency recognises that its workforce is still under-represented by BME staff and is working through its Race Equality Scheme to widen its appeal as an employer to all applicants.
