Improvement programme
We have embarked on an extensive programme of improvement
since our last Independent
Performance Assessment and the recent national Impact Evaluation
Framework. This was recently tested through our Independent
Supplementary Review, the results of which are due to be published
in June. Through our regular staff and stakeholder
surveys, we gather views about our performance and have
identified key areas for action. These include investing in a
programme of leadership and management development; a revised
approach to engaging with businesses; a new personal appraisal
process; and investment in mobile and remote working.
Our Equality and Diversity Steering Group leads this important
agenda across all our work. The group also oversees our Equality
Impact Assessment process.
We are registered with the International Standard for
Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) for our office
facilities. We have in place action plans to reduce our energy
consumption and to reduce the carbon impact of our business travel.
We are also developing a carbon accounting methodology to assess
the carbon impact of our investments in terms of both what we fund
and the outcome of our investments. This will apply across our
investment portfolio from April 2010.
Key priorities for the Agency’s work will be:
- Integrating the learning from evaluation
- Managing risk and performance through an improved business
planning framework
- Continuing to achieve ISO 14001 for environmental performance
in our offices; and ISO 27001 for corporate security
- Embedding the net-zero carbon methodology in our investment
decisions.
