Successful businesses

Making sure that our businesses are equipped for future success is a critical part of our work. This means they will be highly efficient, truly innovative and will recognise the need to move to a low carbon agenda.

Key priorities for Agency investment will be:

  • Supporting the region’s viable businesses, helping them survive the economic downturn and thrive as the economy recovers.
  • Building on our leading edge in new and developing sectors that will provide new jobs over the coming years:

- composites
- advanced engineering
- micro-electronics and digital design
- environmental technologies
- marine science
- creative industries.

  • Developing a high level and technical skills base to support new and developing industries.
  • Fostering innovation and creativity through targeted business support and advice, business skills and education development.
  • Developing the infrastructure for future growth.
