The South West of England Regional Development Agency (RDA) has been working with the Newlyn Fish Industry Forum to identify locations within the existing harbour to enable the growth of industrial premises for the fish processors in Newlyn.
This project will deliver vitally needed employment land for the local fish producers and merchants. A significant contributory factor in Newlyn's regeneration, it will provide workspace for the diversification of the port adding value to the processing of the fish in close proximity to the port.
The RDA has invested funding to help with the design of industrial units in the harbour up to RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Stage D. This work is due to be completed in September 2007, when regeneration plans for the harbour will be made available.
