The town of Newquay on the north coast of Cornwall is the subject of a bold 20-year investment plan that will transform its built environment and reconnect it with its greatest asset, the sea.
Two years in the making and called the Newquay Action Framework, the plan is already seen as a model for regenerating UK seaside towns through excellence in design and urban planning.
Jointly funded by the South West RDA, Restormel Borough Council and English Partnerships, the Newquay Action Framework is a coherent plan for both the private and public sector to engage in Newquay's development as the Surf Capital of the UK.
