Consultation opens on draft Scheme for Strategic Regional Joint
Working
16 February 2010
A draft Scheme for Strategic Regional Joint Working has today
been published for formal consultation by the Strategic Leaders’
Board and South West RDA Board.
The Scheme confirms the joint working arrangements currently in
place between the two Boards and outlines how they will work
together in future on the development of the Regional Strategy (as
required by the Local Democracy, Economic Development and
Construction Act 2009). The Scheme also confirms the proposed
governance arrangements for Joint Boards as well as clarifying
plans for joint administration, engagement and consultation going
forward.
The Scheme is a joint publication by the South West RDA and
Strategic Leaders’ Board, both of whom have made a commitment to
the principles of partnership and openness in their approach to
strategic joint working.
Consultation on the Scheme runs from 16 February to 30 March
2010 (inclusive).
The document is available to download here, Scheme
for Strategic Regional Joint Working – document for
consultation, and anyone wishing to submit comments should
send these to consultation@swcouncils.gov.uk before
the closing date.
Following the consultation, feedback will be considered by the
Strategic Leaders and South West RDA Joint Board (Joint Strategic
Board) prior to a final version being submitted to Government.
