The purpose of the Dorset Working Group for the 2012 Games (DWG2012) is to ensure that:

• appropriate action is taken to deliver the Games, as per Dorset's contractual obligations
• partner organisations are working towards the same aim
• effective information sharing takes place

The DWG2012 has 4 sub-groups and 2 affiliated groups. 
 
The sub-groups are:

• Event Management - focusing on the actual event itself, whilst learning from the international sailing events which are being held in the years leading up to 2012
• Transportation - focusing on traffic and transport management
• Visitor Management - covering accommodation and visitor management
• Communications - managing the messages about the Games

Each of the sub-groups has its own Terms of Reference.
