Legacy is the product of what is left behind after the Games have finished. It is a mixture of intangible benefits that are almost impossible to measure in any quantifiable way; the inspirational value of the Games, the excitement, the passion, the interest. We must never underestimate their power to deliver real lasting benefit. It is also a series of tangible benefits such as improved infrastructure, new partnerships and increased levels of participation, all of which can be analysed and measured. These two elements must be delivered in parallel to maximise the opportunities that the Games offer. Only by taking a coordinated and holistic approach to delivery are the long term benefits of the London 2012 Games likely to be achieved. Legacy from the Games in the South West means:
