Urban and Rural Access

Urban and Rural Access The South West of England Regional Development Agency (South West RDA) recognises the importance of improving physical access in many urban and rural areas to improve the economic prosperity of the region.

The South West RDA supports improved access to targeted rural and urban areas. This will be achieved directly as part of initiatives such as Market & Coastal Towns and more generally through RDA support for Local Transport plans (five year bidding documents outlining required funding for local transport measures).

In working to improve access, the RDA works closely with other organisations such as the Countryside Agency, local highway authorities and government to ensure that initiatives can be prioritised, funded and implemented.
