Skills and Economic Inclusion
AimHigher
Aimhigher South West is a programme of activities to raise awareness, aspirations, and achievement so that more young people (who have the potential to benefit) from under-represented social groups can progress to Higher Education. The South West RDA is involved in this project through representation on the Steering Committee for the programme
Lifelong Learning Networks (LLNs)
Lifelong Learning Networks are collaborative groups of Higher Education Institutions working with Further Education Colleges (FECs) to improve the progression of individuals with vocational qualifications, both studying and already in work, into Higher Education. The South West has two LLNs, funded by HEFCE, one in the north of the region, and one in the south. Every HEI or FEC in the region belongs to one or other of these networks. The RDA sits on the Strategic Board for both. South West Network and Western Vocational Network
National Council For Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE)
The South West RDA is working with all the Higher Education Institutions in the South West and a national organisation - the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE) to help to inculcate the concept and practice of enterprise into students and graduates in the region.
Higher Skills Project (HSP)
Higher Skills Project (HSP) will develop and deliver higher education skills packages that are tailored to meet the needs of employers. The total value of the project is £12 million, £4 million of which will be invested by HEFCE in the South West region. Higher Skills on HERDA website
