Perception is critical to business and investment decisions. South West England needs to compete with other successful economies around the world to attract funding, people and companies. To do this, it markets the dynamism of its cities, quality of its natural environment and the excellent opportunities for business growth across the region.
Working closely with the Regional Assembly and South West Tourism, the South West RDA markets South West England, internationally, nationally and within the region, both as a tourist destination and as an excellent business location.
We have also developed a new regional identity. The South West England Brand Centre is a collaborative venture aimed at promoting and distributing the new South West England brand.
It is important to project a positive image of South West England to a variety of audiences at home and abroad. We need to demonstrate to potential inward investors that the region is an excellent place to do business, and a great region in which to live and work.
Specifically we need to celebrate and promote the region's business excellence to potential investors, and encourage the region's businesses to promote the region through their national and international business dealings.
For example, we are working with the West of England Aerospace Forum to promote the South West as a region of global significance in the aerospace sector.
