EXTENSIVE TRANSPORT LINKS

South West England's infrastructure of modern airports, quality road, rail and sea links ensure that organisations in the region have quick and easy access to the rest of the UK and the world - making it a pleasure doing business.

South West Access Map

BY AIR

In addition to rapid road and rail connections to Heathrow and Birmingham airports, South West England has two of the UK's fastest growing airports offering international and domestic flights - Bristol and Bournemouth - as well as regional airports serving Exeter, Plymouth and Newquay.

BY ROAD

The M4 and M5 motorways connect South West England with the rest of the UK and - via the Channel Tunnel - to Europe and beyond. The region's roads are also amongst the safest in Europe.

BY RAIL

The region is especially well served by rail links connecting passengers and freight direct not only into London but to all parts of the UK and Continental Europe. Several multi-modal road/rail transport hubs are now established (including Swindon and Avonmouth).

BY SEA

Busy commercial ports at Bristol, Falmouth, Plymouth, Portland, Weymouth, Poole and Teignmouth offer the sea-borne option for freight. Bristol Port, for instance, handles over £9 billion worth of goods per annum.

BY BROADBAND

And, of course, the vital regional backbone network for modern businesses is also highly developed in South West England. The transatlantic fibre-optic cable enters the UK at Cornwall, with access points available throughout its passage across the region.
