The Regional Economic Strategy provides a framework for all economic development activity in the South West of England. While the South West Regional Development Agency has a key role to play in developing the Strategy, it is one of many partners involved in its implementation. The strategy aims to give a framework in which public, private and community bodies can plan and work towards common objectives.
The South West RDA is required by government to keep the strategy under review. During 2005 it carried out extensive consultation with stakeholders across the region following four distinct phases as outlined in the RES Review 2005: Timetable (Adobe Acrobat Reader Document - 57.51kb).
Formal consultation on the draft Regional Economic Strategy closed on 9 December 2005 following a 12 week consultation period. We would like to thank everyone who provided feedback on the draft. All feedback was considered when writing the final draft for Ministers.
