Enviroskills SW

Enviroskills SW logoEnviroSkills SW was a three-year skills development programme designed to support small and medium sized environmental technology businesses based in South West England. EnviroSkills training facilitators devised an assessment process specially developed to enable senior managers of these businesses to identify the skills their employees needed to maximise innovation and growth. EnviroSkills also worked closely with other regional business-support organisations, including Business Link, to help these companies access a range of business-support opportunities.

The Achievements

  • 99 businesses have undergone detailed skills assessments
  • 1277 individuals have undergone training
  • 1993 training events have been supported with grant funding
  • £284,022 in grant funding to support training has been provided by the project
  • £827,923 worth of resources have been invested by the businesses in training
  • 440 jobs have been created in the sector over the 3 year period (Figure captured from a survey of 138 companies).
