Destination Management Organisations and Partnerships

DMOs and DMPs focus on the visitor economy for a local area, such as Bristol or Somerset. They’re either publicly-funded, membership-funded or both. They support the interests of their funders by focusing on four broad areas:

  • product development
  • research and planning
  • promotion and awareness, and
  • advocacy and community.

We provide an annual fund of £250k which all DMOs and DMPs can bid for. Successful bids will be used to help projects that support the Regional Tourism Framework Agreement. Joint tourism promotion is also encouraged through an annual RDA-funded (£750k) programme, run with support from South West Tourism.
