Grant for Research and Development (GRD)
Latest News - 01 September 2010
CURRENTLY CLOSED TO NEW APPLICATIONS
Due to the funding restrictions placed on the South West RDA and
the uncertainty of future funding we are not able to accept any new
Grant for Research and Development applications (including Initial
Proposal Forms). The future of the Grant for Research &
Development scheme should become clearer following the announcement
of the results of the government's Comprehensive Spending Review in
October.
What is the Grant for Research and Development?
Grant for Research and Development is a Department for Business,
Innovation and Skills (BIS) business support initiative which
provides funding to help individuals and small and medium-sized
businesses research and develop technologically innovative products
and processes. There are different levels of grant available for
different projects.
The South West Regional Development Agency delivers the grant in
this region, drawing on the advice of independent technical
specialists and internal expertise to appraise applications and
decide which projects should receive funding. Grants are awarded on
a discretionary basis.
