Grant for Research and Development (GRD)
GRD is now provided by the Technology Strategy Board
Due to the closure of all Regional Development Agencies we are
no longer able to accept any new GRD applications (including
Initial Proposal Forms). The lead delivery body for the
scheme from April 2011 is the Technology Strategy Board.
Eligibility requirements prior to April 2011 (for information
only)
Who is eligible
SME’s operating or planning to operate within the South West
Region. SME status can be checked by referring to the
European Commission Guidance.
Enterprises from other regions applied to their respective
Regional Development Agency.
What are the assessment criteria?
Each application will be assessed against the following
criteria:
- Technological innovation
- Level of technical risks
- Commercial prospects
- Need for the grant
- Experience, skills and track record of the applicant and
business.
- Wider Aspects such as environmental benefits and good
design.
In addition, projects should provide positive regional impact in
line with the Regional Economic Strategy (RES) and the
South
West RDA Corporate Plan. Whilst we give consideration to
applications covering a wide range of technologies, we particularly
welcome those that demonstrate a positive impact for the regional
economy through the establishment of competitive and innovative
businesses.
