From 01 July 2011, European Regional Development Fund
(ERDF) programmes in the South West will be directly managed by
Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). Further information is available on our funding
pages.
Under ERDF Transition arrangements CLG are considering meeting
the European Regulations regarding Programme Monitoring Committees
through their proposal to have Local
Management Committees.Under ERDF
The Programme Monitoring Committee (PMC) is set up in accordance
with European regulations and has a key strategic role, alongside
the managing authorities, in implementing the Competitiveness and
Employment Programme, by monitoring the quality and effectiveness
of the investments made.
The PMC is chaired by Government Office for the South West
(GOSW), with administrative support provided by the South West
RDA for ERDF and GOSW for ESF. Membership is drawn from a
wide range of partners including the public, private and community
sectors.
Organisations represented on the PMC are:
- Communities and Local Government
- Environmental statutory agencies
- Government Office for the South West (in addition to
Chair)
- Higher Education institutions
- Jobcentre Plus
- Learning and Skills Council
- Local Government Association elected member
- Private sector interests, including cooperatives,
non-governmental organisations and charities.
- Regional Skills Partnership
- Organisations with an interest in rural issues, particularly
economic
- Strategic Leaders Board
- South West RDA (in addition to admin support)
- Trades Union Congress
- Voluntary and community sector
