SW Brussels office

The SW Brussels office (SWUKBO) provides a voice for South West England in Europe. It is a partnership made up of:

  • the South West RDA;
  • all first-tier local authorities in the region;
  • SW Councils;
  • Higher Education Regional Development Association for the South West (HERDA-SW).

SWUKBO works to ensure that the South West’s interests are represented at the EU level; keeps regional partners informed about what’s going on in Europe of relevance to the South West; and, develop transnational links and opportunities for cooperation with other European regions.

The SWUKBO team provide a valuable link between the region and Europe, and has established working relationships throughout key EU institutions and organisations, including: the Commission; the European Parliament; the Committee of the Regions; other UK and EU regional representations in Brussels; and, pan-European networks such as the Assembly of European Regions (AER), Eurocities, the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), and the European Association of Regional Development Agencies (EURADA).

SWUKBO’s website is available at www.southwestuk.eu.
