SW Brussels office
The SW Brussels office (SWUKBO) provides a voice for South West
England in Europe. It is a partnership made up of:
- the South West RDA;
- all first-tier local authorities in the region;
- SW Councils;
- Higher Education Regional Development Association for the South
West (HERDA-SW).
SWUKBO works to ensure that the South West’s interests are
represented at the EU level; keeps regional partners informed about
what’s going on in Europe of relevance to the South West; and,
develop transnational links and opportunities for cooperation with
other European regions.
The SWUKBO team provide a valuable link between the region and
Europe, and has established working relationships throughout key EU
institutions and organisations, including: the Commission; the
European Parliament; the Committee of the Regions; other UK and EU
regional representations in Brussels; and, pan-European networks
such as the Assembly of European Regions (AER), Eurocities, the
Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), and the European
Association of Regional Development Agencies (EURADA).
