Working with partners
The South West RDA provides clear strategic
direction on the region’s economy, while generating cross-sector
partnerships. Our partners look to us to speak up for and promote
the region to government and potential investors, and to share our
in-depth knowledge and expertise on the economy in the region.
We demonstrate our understanding of the region
and intelligence on the economy in a number of ways, including
publishing regular economic reports and by supporting the business
module of the South West Regional Observatory. We
always look to ensure that this information is widely available to
support economic development.
Similarly, we understand how important it is
to keep enhancing our relationship with key partners. We are
developing close working arrangements with the Strategic Leaders
Board, which has already led to effective cooperation on the
Regional Funding Allocation submission to government.
We are also building on the role of the
Regional Business Forum, improving direct engagement with major
companies, business intermediaries and the banks to ensure we
understand the challenges that are being faced at the sharp end of
the regional economy.
The Regional Employment and Skills
Partnership (RESP) provides strategic leadership across the
public and private sector in the region in terms of employment and
skills, and plays a crucial role in helping public sector
supply-side partners deliver what business needs to survive and
thrive in the current economic climate.
